FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Here are some of the questions that we are asked about our studio and

here are our answers!

Nope! Many of our students experience martial arts for the first time through Taekwondo and do just fine. Taekwondo is a great way to start your martial arts journey!

Do I need to speak Korean to learn Taekwondo?

While an understanding of Korean helps, it is absolutely not necessary, as most of the class is conducted in English. Even if you do not speak English, we have many bilingual students and instructors who will do their best to help you!

Is Taekwondo useful for self-defense?

While self-defense training is not a main priority here at AK Taekwondo, the skills developed in Taekwondo definitely help with self-defense, especially with the non-combative aspects of self-defense, such as effective communication, listening skills, and distance awareness.

What does AK stand for?

AK stands for America-Korea

What is the youngest age my child can start Taekwondo?

We have students as young as 3 and 4, but it ultimately depends on your child's maturity and ability to follow directions. If you would like your child to begin Taekwondo, just bring them in for a free trial class!

Absolutely! Many people with all kinds of disabilities have enjoyed the benefits of Taekwondo, including greater confidence, coordination, strength, and initiative. Our instructors do our best to accomodate you and find ways to overcome students' disabilities.

 Why should I choose
AK Taekwondo?

AK means America-Korea and at our studio we value self-respect and discipline to ourselves and everyone rather than just learning self-defense techniques. We also give our members a great and fun experience while training in AK Taekwondo Center.
